Hever Castle will be holding its 17th Annual Patchwork and Quilting Exhibition on the 12th – 14th September.
The exhibition will feature over 200 patchwork quilts and wall hangings made by members of ‘The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles’ from Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Traditional and intricate British and American designs, hand and machine work, appliqué and sampler quilts, as well as an array of invited quilts will be on display from Katherine Guerrier, Janet Twinn, Charlie’s Angels and the Miniature Group.
This year’s Hever Challenge competition, ‘Log Cabin Fever’, will produce a glorious assortment of designs using a wide variety of techniques. Awards will be presented for the most outstanding wall hanging in this section, and visitors will also have the opportunity to select their favourite quilt from the entire exhibition. There will also be the Jennie Lewis' Retreat Challenge.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the members of ’The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles’ who will be giving demonstrations on quilting techniques throughout the weekend. There will also be the opportunity to browse the stalls and purchase an array of beautiful fabrics and haberdashery that will be on offer.
